What is Value Village's community vision?

/ Summary

Value Village's community treats customers as 'residents', offering learning, health, work and human connection.

  • The measure of success: 'someone who came alone leaves with friends.'
  • Our belief: loneliness is the deepest illness of our time — connection is the prescription.

Chapter 6

THE COMMUNITY

Community as home

We look beyond the word 'customer'. We see residents.

Even without a building, when people gather around shared values, that is already a Village.

Our community is not a place to buy. It is a place to gather, to learn, to work, to laugh.

Some come to learn beauty. Some come to reclaim their health. Some come to try new work. Some come to find friends.

When someone who came alone leaves with friends — that is the shape of success.

Loneliness is the deepest illness of our time. We want to be the prescription — not a product, but a connection.

Some community initiatives are still under development as of July 2026.
