We know we will not be here a hundred years from now. That is why we wrote this book.

The future is not something to predict. It is something to hand down.

We do not know when you are reading this. Our names may already be forgotten. That is fine.

What we hope you remember is not our names, but a question: 'What is real richness?'

We began with that question. We hope you will begin with it too.

Each era may find its own answer. We only hand down the question.

This book will never be finished. Because you will keep writing it.

The Last Principle: culture dies when it is complete. As long as we keep asking, Value Village is alive.

This vision is a long-term concept, not a fixed business plan.
